Department of Nursing Research
This department is one of the very active departments of the institute. Many teaching faculty and students have received grants from research agencies, namely RGUHS, Bengaluru, and BLDE (DU), Vijayapura, to carry out research activities.

To offer various learning experiences that facilitate competent community health nurse and valuable citizen who demonstrate excellence in community services, family & individual care, education and research.
Objectives
To render quality education to the students by adapting various educational methods.
To carry out various community development activities regarding promoting the health of the community.
To facilitate faculty development programme for promoting the faculty capabilities.

To take part in community health nursing departmental research activities.
To provide basic essential primary health care services for the community.
To expose UG/PG Student nurses to gain excellent community-based training.
To plan and implement health programmes bases on a community survey.
To carry out the community outreach services at affiliated health centres.
To make student nurses aware of the role of nurses in health care delivery systems.
To assist in national health programmes.
