Department of Child Health Nursing
This department trains students in the delicate and adept handling of children. Here, students are prepared to understand and develop the necessary skills required to provide care for children from birth to their fourteenth year. Preventive, curative and rehabilitative care forms the core skills of this department. Students benefit immensely from the clinical exposure they receive at the Neonatal ICU, Paediatric ICU and General Paediatric wards of the teaching hospital.
Vision
To be a model of excellence to improve pediatric population health locally and globally through leadership in pediatric nursing education, research, and practice.
Objectives
To impart adequate knowledge and skills to undergraduate nursing students on comprehensive nursing care for children in promotive, preventive, curative and restorative domains of health
To motivate students to research child health and its various factors.
To apply evidence-based practice in the care of children.
